Update on the 2021-22 Season

After a lot of discussion, revisions to the tentative schedule and observing the current pandemic numbers, it looks like we will be able to have the Tour this year!  However, there will be some important changes from last year.  Here is a quick run down of those changes:

  • We will be strictly observing social  distancing and masking requirements
  • We will only have 8 legs leading up to the Finals, and mostly only one shoot per weekend
    • This is partially due to COVID related social distancing requirements, partially due to avoiding conflicts with other shoots, and partially due to Christmas and New Years both falling on weekends
  • Archers will only need to shoot in ONE event prior to Finals Weekend in order to qualify for Finals.
    • You still need a total of 3 scores to qualify, but you only need to compete in one event prior to Finals Weekend.  (This is a temporary change to the rules for the 2021-22 tournament year only.)
  • Due to social distancing requirements space will be very limited, generally 8-12 archers per line.  There is a good chance of maxing out at all events.  Archers who have pre-registered through the website will be given preference over those who show up on the day of the event.
  • All other rules remain the same

We are limiting the venues to only those shops which are large enough to accommodate six feet between archers on the shooting line and still have ~20-25 archers per event.  We apologize to the smaller venues for not being able to include them this year and we sincerely hope that we will be able to get back to our normal format next year.

As mentioned above we also will  be strictly observing masking requirements.  EVERYONE will be required to wear a mask while indoors.  The mask must cover both your nose and mouth.  Archers will be allowed to remove their masks while on the shooting line, but must put it back on when they step off the shooting line.   While waiting  your turn to shoot and while scoring you must wear your mask, and we will do our best to maintain social distancing as the situation allows.

At the venues where the shooting area is physically divided from the spectating area, only archers shooting on that line will be allowed in the shooting area.  At locations which do not have separated viewing and shooting areas, spectators are asked to remain as far away from people outside your household as the circumstances allows.

These COVID safety requirements are not negotiable.  Anyone who violates these protocols or other government mandated safety rules will be asked to leave the premises immediately.

Due to social distancing requirements most venues will only be able to accommodate 8-12 archers per line, for a total of 16-24 archers per event.  This is much lower than usual and makes it likely that shooting lines may max out, especially the more popular 11am lines.  Pre-registration is strongly encouraged.  Anyone who pre-registers through the website will be given preference over those who register on the day of the event.  Please note that posting on Facebook that you will be attending does not count as pre-registration.  Pre-registration can only be done through pnwshootup.com.  If you have problems pre-registering on the website, please email Chris for assistance.

We understand and acknowledge there is an array of opinions about masking and social distancing.  Some will undoubtedly find the above rules overly cautious, silly or offensive.  We respect those opinions and  pass no judgement on anyone who conducts their life or their events differently.  But if someone were to get sick and suffer serious implications or death from an infection acquired at one of our events, as the organizers and people who encouraged you all to come and take part, we will feel responsible.  We ask in turn that you respect our decision on this matter.  If you do not wish to follow these rules we completely understand and will miss seeing you.  Hopefully everything will be back to normal next year.
